I was asked yesterday why my ex wife does some of the selfish things that she does in an attempt to hurt me. Why does she use our children as a pawn to manipulate situations to meet her own selfish desires. My answer was simple and direct. SELFISHNESS, it destroyed our marriage and she was hurting our children by the same behaviors. She put the things that she wanted first, above anyone else. Whether that was another affair, another boyfriend, spending the mortgage payment to go shopping for clothes, whatever it was it was done out of selfishness. A concern only for what she wanted with no thought to her family or those around her. Now, she has her children to use as pawns to maximize further her selfish interests and desires.
As I pondered further upon this question and the reality that is the larger picture in society, It became extremely evident that it is through selfishness that nearly every problem we face in society is derived. Selfishness not only creates many of our problems, it then compounds them into at times insurmountable obstacles. We by our examples of selfish behavior are teaching our children to repeat this process, oftentimes worse than we ourselves have done.
Sacrificing ones personal needs and desires for someone else is becoming a bigger challenge in the world we live. We are bombarded with examples of selfishness by the media, our televisions are full of it, the movies make it seem normal, even our music hums the idea daily into our minds, In fact, many times those who do sacrifice for others are often viewed with disdain. Our religious leaders who serve endlessly to help are ridiculed and berated for their beliefs, our veterans are neglected.
Selfishness is becoming rampant in our society. We see daily examples of parents who place their own selfish desires above the welfare of their own children. Some use the children as weapons in divorce to hurt their ex spouse, some leave them home alone at night to go out and party, and we have even seen examples of parents who will kill their children to avoid the “inconvenience” of being a parent.
It seems to me that as we continue to fight for personal rights, many times we address these issues from a standpoint of selfishness. We are teaching our children through our behaviors to be self centered, egotistical, selfish individuals in society whom are only concerned about what they want, when they want it and how. There is no thought given to the aftermath of the individuals choices and the impact that these have on their children and communities.
While we all have desires in life, needs and dreams, when we focus on them without concern for the impact that they will have on our families, our neighbors, our communities and nation we abandon the hope of improving our society and in creating a world where all can succeed. We are teaching our children to do the same.
I believe in God! I believe in my Savior Jesus Christ! This is who I am. I have many deeply held beliefs and my life has been greatly blessed as a result of my standing firm in what I believe. I have endured many verbal assaults against me and what I believe lately, by some who have been considered my friends, and others by total strangers. I have been told I am a vile human being and delusional because I believe in something.
I will never make apologies for my beliefs! Some of them are,
I Believe in GOD
I Believe in Jesus Christ
I Believe in the Atonement
I Believe in the sanctity of human life, this includes the unborn children
I Believe in the sacredness of the marriage covenant and families
I Believe in honor
I Believe in fidelity
I Believe this nation is a blessed land
I Believe in small government
I Believe in conservative values
I Believe in the freedoms to worship and in others rights to believe differently
I Believe in acceptance and tolerance
I Believe in the constitution and rights under the bill of rights.
I Believe in hard work and discipline
I Believe in Charity
I Believe in kindness
I Believe in self reliance
These are merely some of my beliefs and I will make no excuses to anyone for them. There will undoubtedly be those who will find it necessary to mock some or all of these beliefs. Trust me. I have heard them all before. Those who choose to mock, I feel sorry for. The mockery of anyone’s beliefs is evidence of a lost individual who has no solid ground to stand on with their own personal beliefs, for many have none.
If you are threatened by my beliefs ask yourself why, don’t attack me for standing for something. You are free to believe differently. I would actually love to hear differing beliefs. You are free to state them, in a positive and effective manner. I have found however, that many people will feel the need to make some pointless statement about any of these beliefs in an effort to disparage or attack me for mine. If believing in God, having values, believing in something, helping others, giving to charity, and standing for what I believe to be true makes me a vile human being as I have been called, then I gladly accept the title, it is not your acceptance I seek or need.
The American people have forsaken their freedom and lost their liberties as a result of their idolatrous worship of the rich and famous in this land. The American obsession with money, the rich, and their own self indulgent behaviors have now created an elite and ruling class within this nation. A class that rules without regard to law and the constitution.
As a Nation we have listened to those with fame and fortune and blindly followed them into the abyss through our idolatry, as they have silently and methodically tightened the noose around our throats while we willingly bow down and worship them, for no other reason than the fame and fortune that we as a people have thrust upon them.
The cost to win a Congressional Election is over 1.6 million dollars while that of the Senate topping 10.5 million. The median household income in America is only $52,100. The cost to win congress is 30 times more than this and the Senate is 201 times greater! The average Americans net worth is $77,300 compared to members of Congress at 6.5 million and the Senate at 11.9 million. The average net worth of the past 5 Presidents of the United States a whopping 26.6 million!!
This is NON PARTISAN! Democrat and Republican alike, if you do not have access to millions of dollars, you cannot win an election in this country. We have a social elite that is out of touch with the daily stressors and issues that the average American family faces. They make decisions for a citizenry that they know nothing about and cannot relate to! They pass legislation and laws that violate the constitution meant to protect the American people from tyranny, while the American people quietly sit back and allow their freedoms and rights to be reduced and taken away.
Like frogs, we are in the water, it has been warming up now to where it is boiling and we are too complacent with the offerings of these leaders that are pacifying our own carnal and self indulgent desires. They have distracted us with evil designs to lull us into complacency while they slowly remove our freedoms, while we sit like fools begging for more.
These cunning leaders have wooed Hollywood and the media into propagating this con on the American people. We have voted based upon the endorsements of celebrities who are far more distanced from the real world than our leaders have become, yet we follow them like sheep to the slaughter while idolizing and worshiping them as they slowly enslave us.
We have been warned against idolatrous behavior yet we have foolishly fallen to its entrapment. We have been blinded by greed and self gratification and the fantasy world that we want the world these fools with money live in.
I want our government back in the hands of the people and taken away from these elitist individuals who pass laws for the masses that they exempt themselves from! The double standards that this American people have accepted and continue to vote for will lead to the complete and utter removal of the remaining bits of freedom we enjoy. Like the kidnapper who entices children with candy to enslave them in a world they never wanted, we have also taken of the FREE candy that the government has offered as it continues to enslave the American people.
It’s time that this people rise and take control of their government, raise their voices against tyranny and oppression, gain the strength of character that comes through hard work and self reliance, and REMOVE from office all those who would pass laws for the commoner but not the elite, and stop the idolization and worship of those in Hollywood and Congress who would continue to take us down a path of destruction. Get involved in your communities and elect men and women of character, who know how to work and be self sufficient and who have not been tainted with the past idolatrous worship from the American People!
IT IS TIME THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TOOK BACK THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE!
